Small Group Tuition

My GCSE Psychology course follows the Edexcel specification and is taught in small, supportive groups to help learners feel confident, organised, and fully prepared for their exams.

You can choose to study the course over two years, or—if you’d like to cover all content in one academic year—learners are welcome to join both weekly lessons.

The Course

Two‑Year Pathway

  • Year 1: Paper 1 content

  • Year 2: Paper 2 content

This structure gives learners time to build strong foundations, practise skills gradually, and develop confidence with exam technique.

One‑Year Pathway

Learners who prefer a faster pace can join both weekly sessions and complete the full GCSE content within one academic year.

Lesson Structure

I use a simple, consistent structure to help learners stay organised and reduce cognitive load:

Consolidate

Interactive activities during the lesson and in the workbook to deepen understanding and reinforce learning.

Apply

Exam‑style questions to build confidence with assessment skills and develop strong AO1, AO2, and AO3 responses.

Review

A retrieval activity to strengthen memory and check understanding.

FAQS

What exam board do you teach?

I follow the Edexcel GCSE Psychology specification. All lessons, resources, and assessments are aligned with this exam board.

How big are the groups?

Groups are intentionally small (no more than 8) so every learner feels supported, noticed, and able to ask questions. This also helps me tailor explanations and pace to the group’s needs.

How long does the course take?

You can choose between:

  • Two‑year pathway – Year 1 covers Paper 1, Year 2 covers Paper 2

  • One‑year pathway – learners attend both weekly lessons to cover the full course in a single academic year

What happens if my child misses a lesson?

Every session is recorded, and the recording is emailed out the same evening along with:

  • a short summary of what we covered

  • any homework for the following week This means learners can catch up easily and stay on track.

Do learners need any prior knowledge?

No prior knowledge is needed. The course starts from the very beginning and builds understanding step by step.

What equipment or software do we need?

Just a device with internet access, a notebook or folder, and the ability to join live online lessons. All resources are provided digitally

How much homework is there?

Homework is purposeful and manageable. It usually includes short consolidation tasks, workbook activities, or exam‑style questions to build confidence gradually.

How do assessments work?

At the end of each topic, learners complete a short test. I mark these personally and provide clear, constructive feedback so learners know exactly how to improve.

Can my child switch between pathways?

Yes. If a learner starts on the two‑year pathway and later wants to move to the one‑year option, they can join the second weekly lesson at any point (subject to availability).
